Pat Pankratz moves discarded outlet mall signs to the metal sheer at the Green Guy recycling center. Green Guy takes all types of metals, including aluminum cans at 55 cents per pound, which is about 20 soda cans.
I took this shot after a big hail storm in San Marcos. A day or two after the storm, my boss suggested I go to Green Guy recycling center to see if they received anything damaged.
I hit the jackpot when I walked in and saw a pile of metal signs from the outlet malls. A fork lift was zipping around, sorting through the piles of discarded metal and I saw this banged up sign that said “Fashion.” I managed to snap a few shots before workers dismantled the signs to be recycled.
