Little heroes

Recently I set up a photo booth for the Journey UMC’s Vacation Bible School.

The VBS is called Hero Training Academy and focuses on every day heroes. People like firemen, police officers, soldiers, doctors, teachers and others who are viewed as every day heroes, as well as Biblical characters, were featured during the program.

Each day kids practiced their super hero poses, refined their super hero names and added to their super hero costumes. Then, on the last day, they got the opportunity to pose for the camera.

I set up a simple, kid-sized white backdrop in a corner of the room and taped down the wires so no little feet tripped over them. White curtains were already up, which helped with the wrangling.

One by one, the little super heroes stepped in front of the camera and showed their best super hero pose. The collection at the top is the result of that.

The dog in the center of the top photo is Super Cooper, the program’s mascot. I caught Super Cooper trying to take a turn behind the camera…
