While I was growing up, carving pumpkins was essential to Halloween. Every year my sister and I would carve pumpkins with my dad and every year we wanted to do something different.
We always looked for templates for neat designs and did our best to carve them with little fingers holding little plastic knives. We were determined to have the most unique pumpkins in the neighborhood. I suppose not much has changed since then, except that I drag my husband along for the ride now.
As soon as we got our pumpkins this year I started searching for designs. After sifting through several web sites, I found the flaming guitar – perfect for my husband. I kept searching until I came across some skeleton hands and thought, “it’s not that hard to trace a guitar pick…” So our 2010 jack-o-lanterns were born.
Just in case you want to see them in the light:
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
