I covered three events leading up to the Miss Kyle pageant. The first was a summer mingle open house, the second was the pageant dress rehearsal and finally, the pageant itself.
The summer mingle was sort of get to know you type event where contestants could come and ask questions of the reigning Miss Kyle, Jennifer Hamzy, and Miss Kyle Teen, Christina Nunez.

The dress rehearsal was a few months later at the Plum Creek Golf Course. The stage wasn’t completed and the girls were having trouble with their choreography.

Then came the final performance where Jessica Cantu was crowned Miss Kyle 2011 and Michaela Castillo was crowned Miss Kyle Teen 2011. I spent a lot of time back stage and in the back of the ballroom to try and get a different view. Also, there were several mini beauty queens running around that made for some great images.
