Friday the Statesman sent me out to Regents School of Austin, where their football team played St. Andrews Academy.
Usually when I’m sent out to a football game, I arrive early to ensure I get a good parking spot and have plenty of time to orient myself to the stadium, find a place to set up my lap top, make sure I have wifi, etc. Also, I usually have to walk a while to get from the parking lot to the press box, then the press box back to the field.
On Friday, as I drove closer to the address, I was expecting to see large bleachers with stadium lights somewhere on the horizon. Instead, I nearly missed my turn in to the parking lot because I almost zoomed past the quaint field with minimal bleachers. It’s a small field, but a very nice one! It’s not too often I see stone arches added to the scenery of a sports field. I found a close parking spot by chance and had more than enough time to enjoy the view.
The final score was Regents 47, St. Andrew’s 13. Click here to view the Statesman story.
Okay, now for what you came for – the photos!
