A few weeks ago I went out to Aquarena Center in San Marcos for Community Impact News.
Aquarena Center is centered around Spring Lake, a natural spring that was dammed at the start of the San Marcos River to create the lake. Originally, Aquarena Center was a theme park, but Texas State University took over the facility and turned it in to a place for education, research and preservation.
Plans are in the works for the theme park buildings to be torn down to return the land to it’s natural state, so Community Impact sent me out capture some of the current ambiance.
